Analysis

Nothing like shipping down to the ATL to wrap up the playoffs. For those not familiar with the golf season, this is the last event before the Ryder Cup (which closes out the 2015-2016 golf season). The last 6 winners of this event won the FedExCup Playoffs because of it. Before we get into the beauty and the history that embodies East Lake, let's take a look at how things stand in the FedExCup Playoffs.

1- Dustin Johnson

2- Patrick Reed

3- Adam Scott

4- Jason Day

5- Paul Casey

6- Rory McIlroy

7- Jordan Spieth

8- Russell Knox

9- Emiliano Grillo

10- Jimmy Walker

The field consists of the top 30 FedExCup point earners. Other notable names in the remaining 20 golfers (with FedEx rank in parenthesis) include Phil Mickelson (13), Matt Kuchar (16), Bubba Watson (24), and Jason Dufner (27). Fresh off being selected as a Ryder Cup captain's pick by Davis Love III, J.B. Holmes (28) joins fellow captain's pick Matt Kuchar. Rickie Fowler, who did not make the cut for this tournament, will use the extra time off to prepare for the Ryder Cup, as he will also being making an appearance representing the red, white, and blue.

That's a classy trophy

East Lake is the oldest course in Hotlanta and plays at 7,374 yards. Let's face it, this is Dustin Johnson's to lose. Johnson (+400) has had a thrilling year and deserves to cap it off right. My "buddy" Rory is still getting overrated at +550. Day (+800), Spieth (+1000), and Adam Scott (+1000) round out the top 5 going into the Championship. Georgia Tech alumnus, Matt Kuchar, returns to Georgia at +3300. Lefty is +3000. Other notables include Paul Casey (+1400) and Patrick Reed (+1800). Welcome to Atlanta…
